QUESTION OR COMMON OBJECTION:
If the Church and science contradict one another, what should I believe?
CATHOLIC ANSWER:
Properly understood, true faith and true science do not contradict each other. This is because they both have their source in God, the source of all truth. And truth cannot contradict truth.

Though a scientific theory seems to contradict Church teaching, that theory may be wrong. Scientists are always coming up with new theories. The truths of faith, however, are more certain because they have been revealed by God to the Church.
