In today's Office of Readings we encounter a sermon by St Charles Borromeo (1538 - 1584). St. Charles Borromeo, Italian San Carlo Borromeo, was a cardinal and archbishop and one of the most important figures of the Counter-Reformation in Italy.  He is the patron saint of bishops, cardinals, seminarians, and spiritual leaders.
