The Medal of the Immaculate Conception, commonly called the Miraculous Medal, was manifested to Sister Catherine Labouré, a spiritual daughter of St. Louise de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul. In 1830 she was blessed with the apparitions of Mary Immaculate to which we owe the Miraculous Medal. The Miraculous Medal (French: Médaille miraculeuse), also known as the Medal of Our Lady of Graces, is a devotional medal, the design of which was originated by Saint Catherine Labouré following her apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Rue du Bac, Paris, France. It was made by goldsmith Adrien Vachette. Today, many share this special devotion whose feast day we celebrate November 27th. For more about this feast, please click on the image. Peace be with you!
