Born to a wealthy family in southern France, St. Jean-François Régis left it behind at the age of 19 to enter the Society of Jesus (the Jesuit Order). Ordained a priest 15 years later he was known for his simplicity and zeal of preaching, and for hearing confessions. Today there are many schools named after him. The luxury hotel, founded by American businessman John Jacob Astor, is named for St. Regis. For more about this saint please click on the image. Peace be with you!
