Symbol or Sanctifier?

QUESTION OR COMMON OBJECTION:

Baptism is just symbolic. It doesn’t save you.

Sure it does. Just as the Great Flood washed away sin at the time of Noah, so baptism washes away sin and saves us. St. Peter wrote of the flood…

This prefigured baptism, which now saves you.”
