Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you, but do so with gentleness and reverence.”

Salvation
Eternal Security
QUESTION OR COMMON OBJECTION:
It says in 1 John 5:13 that we can know we have eternal life.
CATHOLIC ANSWER:
Yes, but the whole book of 1 John says that the way we can know is if we keep God’s commands.
The way we may be sure that we know him is to keep his commandments.”
1 John 2:3
We can’t proclaim Jesus as Lord and then not obey him. Obedience is necessary for salvation.

Assurance of Salvation is one topic that has separated Catholic and some Protestant communities for hundreds of years. Can one have assurance of salvation? Is assurance of salvation something taught in the Bible? Can we have assurance of salvation according to St. Paul?
Check out this video with Dr. Brant Pitre where he will discuss the topic of assurance of salvation from St. Paul’s famous 1st letter to the Corinthians.

PRAYER
Let us pray.
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you.”
Saint John Paul II, pope
Jesus, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life (cf. John 6:68).
Be not afraid! And may the peace of Christ be with you and your loved ones today and always. Holy Family, pray for us. Amen.
